What makes an Acropora worth over $100?

Size and sourcing. A larger cut with more branching is further along than a nub, and some mother colonies are simply harder to get hold of. The care requirements do not change with the price.

Is a more expensive Acropora harder to keep?

No. Price tracks size and sourcing, not difficulty. A $150 Tenuis wants the same alkalinity, light and flow as a $40 one.

* Aquacultured price for the same coral at this size — not our price. Unmarked prices are REEF JASE compare-at.

These are the pieces that anchor a scape: larger cuts, harder-to-source mother colonies, and frags with enough branching to read as a colony inside a year. Every one is WYSIWYG and observed and tank-conditioned for at least two weeks before it is listed, because a coral at this price should not be a gamble on acclimation. If you want the piece held while you finish a build, ship-hold is available at checkout. Ships overnight on a weather-gated schedule with our live arrival guarantee.
