Coral Care
🧪 Care Protocol
📦 Acclimation Sequence
- Float the sealed bag for 15–30 minutes to match temperature.
- Open bag. Gently pour coral + water into a clean container.
- Add tank water slowly over 10–15 minutes to adjust salinity.
- DO NOT DRIP ACCLIMATE. Prolonged exposure creates ammonia spikes.
- NO DIPPING RECOMMENDED. Our systems are quarantined. Dips stress sensitive tissue.
📊 Parameter Target Range
| Metric | Optimal Range |
|---|---|
| Temperature | 77° – 78.5° F |
| Salinity | 1.025 – 1.026 sg |
| Alkalinity (ALK) | 8.0 – 9.0 dKH |
| Calcium (CA) | 420 – 450 ppm |
| Magnesium (MG) | 1300 – 1400 ppm |
| Nitrate (NO₃) | 2 – 10 ppm |
| Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.02 – 0.10 ppm |
💡 Energy & Flow
- SPS: High Energy (200–350 PAR).
- LPS/Goni: Moderate Energy (100–200 PAR).
- Spectrum: Blue-Heavy (15K–20K) recommended.
- Flow: Random, indirect flow. Avoid direct blasting.
🧼 System Notes
- Start low, move high. Acclimate to light over 3-5 days.
- Stability > Numbers. Do not chase perfection rapidly.
- Handle by plug only. Oils damage soft tissue.
